You are not alone
Experiences of sexual trauma can have lasting emotional and physical impacts. Many survivors find that long after the event has passed, its effects continue to show up in daily life.
You might notice:
• anxiety or panic
• intrusive memories or nightmares
• difficulty trusting others
• feeling disconnected from your body or emotions
• shame, guilt, or self-blame
• challenges in relationships or intimacy
These responses are not signs of weakness — they are natural reactions to experiences that were overwhelming or violating.
Healing is possible, and therapy can provide a safe space to begin that process.
A compassionate and trauma-informed approach
Trauma therapy focuses on helping the mind and body process experiences that were once too overwhelming to fully integrate.
In our work together, we move at a pace that feels safe and supportive. You will never be pushed to share more than you feel ready to discuss.
Many clients find that trauma therapy helps them:
• reduce the intensity of traumatic memories
• rebuild a sense of safety and control
• reconnect with their bodies and emotions
• develop healthier relationships with themselves and others
Healing from trauma does not mean forgetting what happened. It means the past no longer has the same power over your present life.
My experience supporting survivors
Much of my clinical work has focused on supporting survivors of sexual trauma.
As a therapist and crisis counselor at the UCLA Health Rape Treatment Center, I have provided trauma-focused therapy and crisis intervention for individuals who have experienced sexual assault. In this role, I have also accompanied survivors through medical and forensic examinations and interactions with law enforcement, offering emotional support during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
This work has deepened my understanding of the complexities of trauma and strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, survivor-centered care.
Therapeutic approaches
My work with trauma integrates several evidence-based approaches designed to support healing at both the emotional and nervous system levels.
These may include:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
A powerful therapy that helps the brain safely process traumatic memories.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
An evidence-based approach that helps individuals examine and reshape beliefs that may develop after trauma.
Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM)
A body-based approach that focuses on regulating the nervous system and restoring a sense of safety.
